IGP Says Newly Recruited Police Constables To Provide Extra Security During Elections

Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), says all constables recently recruited into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will be deployed to provide security during the 2023 general elections.

The IGP who was represented by Ashafa Adekunle, assistant inspector-general of police, zone 8, was speaking at the passing-out parade of the 2022 batch of constables in Kwara State yesterday.

According to Mr. Alkali Baba, the additional deployment is to ensure a credible electoral process.

The IGP further said in line with community policing goals, the recruits will be posted to their various LGAs to further entrench the policing strategy of the federal government toward addressing community crimes in their respective areas.
