President Bola Tinubu has appealed to organised labour for more time to look into their grievances before embarking on industrial action.
Following a meeting with the President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, said President Tinubu appealed that he is new in office and needs time to evaluate the issues raised by workers.

The Speaker and the leadership of the House were at Aso Rock to brief the president on the outcome of a meeting between the lawmakers and the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) who had agreed to shelve their planned strike.
Shortly after meeting the government on Wednesday night, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Joe Ajaero, announced that the planned August 2nd strike was still on unless the government reverses what the union calls “all anti-poor” policies.
