The Kaduna State House of Assembly has approved the Social Security Scheme Bill, marking a significant step in strengthening and expanding the state’s social welfare system. The new law is designed to provide essential support to vulnerable groups across Kaduna State.
The bill introduces enhanced provisions aimed at increasing financial assistance, healthcare access, unemployment benefits, and other critical services for the elderly, retirees, persons with disabilities, low-income families, and other marginalised groups.
In a statement, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dahiru Liman, expressed confidence that the new law will enable the government to advance its efforts in reducing poverty, safeguarding the vulnerable, and building a more inclusive society across the state.
