The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC-L, has reported a significant increase in the nation’s oil production, now reaching 1.8 million barrels per day as of November 12, 2024.
Announced at an upstream production meeting in Abuja on Thursday, NNPC officials said the achievement marks a key milestone in Nigeria’s bid to boost its oil output and reclaim its status as Africa’s leading oil producer.
In addition, NNPC highlighted an increase in gas production, now at 7.4 million standard cubic feet, up from 6.1 million earlier this year, aimed at supporting the nation’s gas infrastructure.
Lawal Musa, the head of NNPC’s production war room, attributed the progress to effective collaboration between NNPC, government and private security agencies, and local communities.
