The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has announced a Christmas bonus of ₦150,000 for each state worker. The bonus was confirmed in a Facebook post late Thursday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor.
The workers are set to receive the bonus before 1pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. This is a significant increase from last year’s ₦100,000 bonus, reflecting the governor’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of state employees.

In addition to the Christmas bonus, the state government has also fully implemented the new minimum wage act, raising wages beyond ₦70,000, with an additional ₦5,000 for Ebonyi workers.
The government reiterated its ongoing efforts to improve workers’ welfare and ensure their financial well-being, highlighting the consistency of its support for public sector employees.
