Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has promoted two academy players of Nigerian descent to first-team training ahead of the club’s crucial Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.  

According to Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird, U18 forward Andre Harriman-Annous and development squad attacker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji were among the academy prospects involved in senior training at the Sobha Realty Training Centre earlier today.

Also present was Ethan Nwaneri, the history-making attacking midfielder who holds the distinction of being the youngest player ever to feature in England’s top flight. Training images released by the club confirmed his participation.
