Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta assessed three promising youngsters of Nigerian descent during the club’s final training session before their Champions League round of 16 tie against PSV Eindhoven.
Ethan Nwaneri, Ifeoluwa Ibrahim, and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji trained with the senior squad at Sobha Realty Training Centre on Monday. Nwaneri and Butler-Oyedeji have previously been named in Champions League squads, but Ibrahim, a versatile defender, has yet to make a senior appearance.

Ibrahim, comfortable at centre-back and right-back, was invited to train with the first team just days after impressing in the FA Youth Cup against Manchester United. The 17-year-old has been with Arsenal since 2016, making his U18 debut as a schoolboy.
Meanwhile, Nwaneri is expected to be in the squad for the match in Eindhoven, having been spotted among the travelling party at Luton Airport ahead of the trip to the Netherlands.
