NAFDAC Uncovers Weapons Hidden by Suspected Fake Drug Dealers in Onitsha

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered rifles, live cartridges, and other weapons hidden at the Ogbo Ogwu Bridge Head Market in Onitsha, Anambra State. The discovery was made during an ongoing crackdown on fake drugs, which began on February 10.

Speaking to journalists, NAFDAC’s South-East Zonal Director, Martins Iluyomade, revealed that the weapons were allegedly stashed by counterfeit drug dealers planning to attack enforcement officials. He added that 50 trailer loads of fake and substandard medicines were also seized and moved to NAFDAC’s laboratories for further analysis.
