Israeli military action in Gaza could put the lives of hostages at risk, a spokesman for Hamas’s armed wing has warned.
Abu Obeida, speaking on behalf of the Qassam Brigades, accused Israel of breaching the terms of the ceasefire and suggested that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was prioritising his own political interests over the fate of those still in captivity.

He said that threats of further military operations or blockades would not secure the release of the remaining hostages.
Hamas, he added, had proof of life for all those still held but warned that any escalation by Israel would likely result in some being killed.
