Social media personality Peller has drawn widespread criticism after dismissing Afrobeats singer Runtown as an ‘up-and-coming artist’ during a livestream.
The controversy arose when Peller’s co-host suggested he collaborate with Runtown, a proposal he rejected, insisting he preferred artists who were already ‘successful and popular.’ His remarks have been met with strong reactions online, with many accusing him of belittling a musician widely regarded as one of the key innovators in Afrobeats.

Peller has previously featured prominent artists such as Olamide, Tiwa Savage, and Davido on his streams.
Runtown first gained recognition with his 2014 hit ‘Gallardo’, featuring Davido, before cementing his international reputation with the 2016 chart-topping single ‘Mad Over You’.
