Former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan has ruled out any political return to the presidential villa, instead throwing her weight behind First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Abuja on Saturday after receiving the *Women Icon Leader of the Year* award from Accolade Dynamics Limited, Mrs Jonathan praised the Tinubu administration’s efforts in promoting women’s development.

She also commended Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the President’s daughter and Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, for her role in advancing female empowerment.
The former First Lady called for unity among women and pledged to actively support Mrs Tinubu’s initiatives in the run-up to the next election, saying collaboration was vital for national progress.
Her remarks are seen as a significant gesture of solidarity from a key figure in Nigeria’s political landscape.
