President Bola Tinubu has approved ₦2 billion for the reconstruction of houses destroyed in the devastating Mokwa floods in Niger State. Vice President Kashim Shettima disclosed this during a visit to the disaster zone, which has seen more than 200 lives lost so far.
The President also ordered the immediate repair of bridges and drainages in the affected area, alongside the delivery of 20 trucks of rice to support victims.

While the federal and state governments have activated emergency responses, displaced residents in Mokwa have voiced frustration over inadequate aid and crowded shelters. Some families lamented receiving only minimal food supplies despite their dire circumstances.
