A bloc of former members of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, has threatened to quit the ruling All Progressives Congress unless the vice-presidential position remains within its fold.
Speaking under the Association of Former ANPP Members, the group expressed dissatisfaction at a press conference in Abuja, accusing the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, and Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, blocs of marginalising them since the APC’s formation in 2015.

National Coordinator, Professor Vitalis Ajumbe, insisted the vice-presidency was, in his own words, a “sacrosanct” entitlement of the ANPP bloc, citing its role as a principal founding partner of the APC.
He criticised the bloc’s exclusion under former President Buhari and said the trend had worsened under President Tinubu’s administration.
The group announced plans for nationwide consultations, warning of political consequences if their demands are ignored.
