INEC Says It’s 99% Ready for Anambra Governorship Poll

With less than two weeks to the November 8 Anambra Governorship Election, the Independent National Electoral Commission says it is 99 percent ready to conduct a credible poll across the state. A delegation from INEC headquarters, led by National Commissioner for Election Planning and Monitoring, Professor Rhoda Gumus, completed a weeklong readiness tour inspecting facilities, assessing logistics, and meeting stakeholders.

Professor Gumus said the visit was to confirm that all operational, security and logistical plans were fully functional, assuring voters that “no one will be left behind.” The team also observed the collection of Permanent Voter Cards in local councils including Dunukofia and Oyi.

During a mock accreditation in Anambra East, upgraded BVAS devices were successfully tested. Officials affirmed that only final deployment of staff and materials remains.
