Directors of the Department of State Services, DSS, from the North-West, alongside representatives from the FCT, Niger, and Plateau States, met in Kaduna to review security threats and strengthen cooperation against banditry and terrorism. The conference focused on harmonising intelligence operations and improving joint responses across the region.
Governor Uba Sani, represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security, described intelligence-led collaboration as vital to defeating insecurity, while calling for greater investment in technology and analytical capacity.

The Emir of Zazzau, HRH Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, commended the DSS for supporting alternative dispute resolution and vetting traditional leaders. Military representatives also credited DSS intelligence for major gains against bandits, reinforcing the agency’s central role in regional stability.
