Gaza’s authorities say Israel has violated the US-brokered ceasefire at least 497 times in 44 days, leaving more than 340 civilians dead, with children, women and the elderly reported to be the majority of the victims.
Officials in Gaza condemned what they described as systematic breaches of international humanitarian law, reporting 27 violations on Saturday alone, resulting in 24 deaths and dozens wounded.
Israel carried out further air strikes on Saturday, saying the action followed an attack by a Hamas fighter inside Gaza’s designated yellow line. Hamas dismissed this claim, accusing Israel of fabricating pretexts to resume large-scale military action.

Observers on the ground say the truce exists in name only, with Israeli forces pushing deeper into Gaza and aid flows still heavily restricted despite agreements requiring unhindered access.
