Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League meeting with Royale Union SG after sustaining a minor hamstring tear during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against DR Congo. The injury, confirmed on his return to Turkey, forced him off at halftime and kept him out of Galatasaray’s 3–2 league win at the weekend, though he was seen supporting teammates from the stands.
Osimhen, who leads the Champions League scoring charts with six goals, will be re-evaluated on Friday to determine his readiness for the high-profile derby against Fenerbahçe on Monday. His absence gives rivals such as Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé an opportunity to close the gap.
