Niger Junta Declares Nationwide Mobilisation to Tackle Insecurity

The military in Niger Republic have ordered a general mobilisation of the population to confront armed groups operating in the country. The directive was announced by the ruling junta as security challenges continue across several regions.

Authorities said the mobilisation includes increased recruitment, civilian participation and heightened security coordination. The move is aimed at strengthening resistance against jihadist groups and other armed factions.

The military government said the decision follows persistent attacks on communities and security forces. Officials said existing measures have not been sufficient to contain the violence.
