At least ten Palestinians have been killed in fresh Israeli attacks across Gaza, as the United States announced the launch of phase two of a ceasefire agreement aimed at ending the conflict. According to Palestinian officials, Israeli forces bombed residential homes in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, with health authorities confirming that a sixteen-year-old was among those killed.
The Israeli military said one of those killed, Muhammad al-Hawli, was a commander in the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. Other fatalities were reported near Rafah, southwest of Gaza City, and in the Nuseirat refugee camp, as Israeli air and ground operations continued across several locations in the enclave.

Hamas condemned the attacks, describing them as a violation of the ceasefire. The US special envoy, Steve Witkoff, confirmed that phase two of President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan had begun and it focuses on demilitarisation, technocratic governance and reconstruction.
