Adedeji Adeleke, the billionaire businessman and father of singer Davido, has publicly denied claims that his son fathered a child with an Ibadan-based family. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, he said Davido is not the father of a teenage girl, Anu Adeleke, whose paternity has been the subject of a long-running dispute.
The controversy resurfaced after the teenager posted an open letter on Instagram, saying she had faced bullying and calling on Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, to take a DNA test. Davido denied the allegation, saying five DNA tests had already been conducted, a claim disputed by the girl’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, who accused the Adeleke family of manipulating results.
Adedeji Adeleke said the matter began in 2014 after he received a letter from a lawyer alleging Davido had fathered a child in Ibadan. He said five DNA tests carried out between 2015 and 2020, with samples analysed in South Africa, all showed a zero percent probability of paternity, insisting the results clearly established that Davido is not the child’s father.
