United Nigeria Airlines has grounded two of its aircraft following separate bird strike incidents. The airline confirmed that the decision was taken as a safety precaution pending inspection and maintenance checks.
In a Sunday statement, the airline announced that the affected aircraft were withdrawn from service to allow engineers assess possible damage. Bird strikes occur when birds collide with aircraft, often during takeoff or landing.
United Nigeria said passenger safety remains its top priority and that standard aviation safety procedures are being followed. It added that efforts are underway to minimise disruption to scheduled flights.
