Efforts Ongoing to Resolve Davido, Sophia Custody Dispute says Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation magazine, says efforts are under way to resolve the child custody dispute between singer Davido and Sophia Momodu.

The legal case concerns Imade Adeleke, born on 14 May 2015, following the pair’s relationship in 2015. In 2024, Davido filed a motion at a Lagos High Court seeking unrestricted access to his daughter, while Sophia Momodu maintained she had not denied him access.

Last week, the singer announced he had withdrawn the case, stating he was not seeking sole custody but a structured co-parenting arrangement. He also said court proceedings became distressing when his late son was referenced.

In an Instagram post from Liberia, where he is visiting former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor over the death of her son, Momodu said he had received messages urging intervention and assured the public that the family is working behind the scenes to resolve the matter.
