Israeli Forces Fired Over 900 Bullets at Gaza Medics says Report

A joint investigation by Forensic Architecture and Earshot alleges that Israeli soldiers fired more than 900 bullets at clearly marked Palestinian emergency vehicles in Tal as-Sultan, west of Rafah, on March 23, 2025. The report, published on 24 February 2026, says 15 aid workers were killed, including members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, the Palestinian Civil Defence and a staff member of UNRWA.

According to the findings, at least 910 gunshots were recorded over a two-hour period, with audio and ballistic analysis indicating multiple shooters firing from an elevated position about 40 metres away. Investigators said there was no exchange of fire and concluded that some victims were shot at close range in what doctors described as “execution-style” killings.

The Israeli military had initially described the incident as involving uncoordinated vehicles and later cited a professional error. However, the report disputes that account, describing the attack as a coordinated ambush on a humanitarian convoy responding to earlier strikes.

Satellite imagery and forensic analysis cited in the investigation also allege that Israeli forces used bulldozers to crush and bury the vehicles and bodies after the attack.
