Ademola Oshodi, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and Protocol, says the United Nations should take the lead in resolving the renewed conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. He stressed that while conflicts are often driven by national interests, adherence to international law must remain a priority.
Mr Oshodi said Nigeria has always supported multilateralism and a rule-based international order. He noted that disputes should be addressed through global institutions, particularly the United Nations, where all parties can present their positions and seek a peaceful resolution.

He added that Nigeria would not be directly involved in the conflict, as it is not a participant in the ongoing nuclear negotiations. According to him, countries must respect relevant UN resolutions and use international platforms to manage their differences.
