The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has disowned a viral graphic claiming it set March 26 as the deadline for government officials seeking elective office to resign.
In a statement on Friday, the commission said the information circulating online is false and did not originate from INEC.
The electoral body urged the public, media organisations and political stakeholders to disregard the message, describing it as fake and misleading.

INEC also advised Nigerians to rely only on its official website, verified social media platforms and authorised press releases for accurate information on electoral matters.
