INEC Appeals for Greater Participation in Enugu CVR

The Independent National Electoral Commission has urged eligible residents of Enugu State to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise ahead of future elections.

Speaking at a press briefing in Enugu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Dr Chukwu Chukwuemeka, said the exercise is a key part of Nigeria’s electoral process and is aimed at ensuring all eligible citizens are included in the National Register of Voters.

He said the commission began the registration exercise in August 2025 across INEC offices nationwide, including the 17 local government areas of Enugu State. The first phase ended in December 2025, while the second phase began on 5 January 2026 and is currently ongoing from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Dr Chukwuemeka said 31,689 voters have been registered across the state since the start of the second phase. He also reminded residents that the exercise is free and open to new voters, those seeking to transfer their voting location, and those who wish to update or correct their voter details.
