The Benin Traditional Council has directed TikToker Habeeb Adelaja, popularly known as Peller, to appear before its authorities over an unauthorised visit to the Oba’s Palace in Benin City.
The council says the incident, which occurred on March 6, violated palace protocols and caused public embarrassment. It added that the influencer had failed to comply with an earlier directive to present himself before an investigative committee.
Authorities are demanding an unreserved written apology, warning that failure to comply could lead to legal action. The council also stressed that the palace is a sacred institution governed by long-standing traditions and not a venue for content creation.

Following the breach, security at the palace has been tightened, with written approval now required for visits and restricted areas declared off-limits to unauthorised persons.
