Ghanaian footballer Dominic Frimpong has been killed after armed men attacked the team bus of Berekum Chelsea, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed. The incident occurred while the club was returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture.
The Ghana Football Association said it was “profoundly shocked” by the attack and extended condolences to Frimpong’s family, teammates and the club. It described him as a promising young player who showed dedication and passion for the sport.
Berekum Chelsea said the team came under fire from masked men armed with guns and assault rifles. The attackers reportedly struck as the players were travelling back from an away match.

The authorities in Ghana have not yet released full details of the incident, including the number of casualties or arrests. Investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
