Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle says he will scout for players of Nigerian descent across Europe as well as monitor the Nigeria Premier Football League ahead of the 2026 Unity Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in May at The Valley Stadium in London.
Chelle said the competition will be used to assess new players and give opportunities to previously invited players who have had limited or no playing time. He added that several established players may be rested due to a demanding season.
Nigeria will face Zimbabwe in their opening match on 26 May, with a potential final against either Jamaica or India if they progress. The coach also confirmed plans to watch domestic league matches before selecting his squad.
