Anthony Joshua set for July comeback fight in Saudi Arabia

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set to return to the ring on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will face boxer Kristian Prenga in a comeback bout. The fight will mark Joshua’s first appearance since resuming training after a car accident in Nigeria in December 2025 that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

The bout is part of a new multi-fight agreement for the British Nigerian boxer, according to promoter Eddie Hearn, with discussions already underway for a potential high-profile clash later in the year. One of the proposed matchups includes a long-anticipated showdown with Tyson Fury, although negotiations are still ongoing.

Joshua’s return comes at a crucial time in the heavyweight division, with renewed interest also surrounding a possible fight with American boxer Deontay Wilder. Speculation has intensified following Wilder’s recent victory over Derek Chisora in London, which has reignited discussions about one of boxing’s most talked-about potential matchups.

The former champion has been rebuilding in recent months and is now back in full training camp, working closely with members of Oleksandr Usyk’s team. His return in Riyadh is expected to draw global attention as Saudi Arabia continues to host major boxing events, with further details about the fight expected in the coming weeks.
