The Supreme Court has vacated a Court of Appeal order directing parties in the African Democratic Congress leadership crisis to maintain the status quo ante bellum.

The appellate court had earlier dismissed an appeal by David Mark challenging the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court in Abuja and ordered the case to return to trial. Following that ruling, the Independent National Electoral Commission de-recognised the Mark-led leadership, prompting him to approach the Supreme Court to challenge the decision.
