The Hisbah command in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State has arrested seven men accused of swapping their wives among themselves.
The board’s head, Malam Ridwani Muhammad Khairan, said the suspects are believed to belong to a group known as Wuddadu and described the practice as contrary to Islamic teachings.
He said one of the suspects allegedly claimed the act was inspired by a dream involving a prophet, and that the practice had reportedly been ongoing in Azare town for about two years before it was exposed.
