Togo Removes Visa Requirement for Africans

The government of Togo has removed visa requirements for citizens of all African countries, allowing holders of valid African passports to enter the country without a visa for up to 30 days.

The country’s Minister of Security, Calixte Madjoulba, announced the policy on Monday, saying it took effect on Sunday as part of efforts to strengthen regional integration and promote free movement across Africa.

Under the new directive, travellers must still comply with immigration, health and security requirements, including completing an online travel declaration at least 24 hours before arrival. The process will generate a travel slip to be presented at border entry points.

The Togolese government says the policy is aimed at boosting trade, tourism and investment, while supporting broader African Union goals on continental integration and mobility under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
