Anambra community protests over worsening flooding, seeks government action

Residents of Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State have staged a protest over persistent flooding in the community, calling for urgent government intervention.

The protesters, made up of youths, community leaders and other stakeholders, marched through parts of the area carrying placards with messages appealing to the federal and Anambra State governments to act.

Some of the inscriptions read “FG, Soludo, save us”, “Ogidi is drowning” and “Save our children from flooding”, as they described the situation as a serious threat to lives, property and livelihoods.
