Nigerian actress Funke Adesiyan has withdrawn her bid to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Ibadan South East and North East Federal Constituency. She made the announcement in a statement shared on her Instagram page on Saturday.
Adesiyan said the decision followed what she described as deep reflection and consultations with leaders of the All Progressives Congress, the party under which she had intended to run.
She explained that her withdrawal was based on an assessment of the political environment and a desire to prioritise long-term impact, credibility and purposeful service over personal ambition.

The actress, who previously worked in both entertainment and political roles, said she remains committed to contributing to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria through other avenues.
