Adamawa, Kaduna Approve Land Titles for REA Mini-Grid Projects

The governments of Adamawa and Kaduna states have issued Certificates of Occupancy for mini-grid project sites being developed by the Rural Electrification Agency under its Minimum Subsidy Tender programme. The approvals are aimed at accelerating electricity access and renewable energy deployment in underserved communities.

The Rural Electrification Agency says the fast issuance of the land titles followed engagements with its Managing Director, Abba Aliyu, and reflects stronger state-level support for infrastructure development and private sector participation in the energy sector.

In Adamawa State, the approved sites include Kofare in Yola South, Mbamba in Yola South, and Saminaka in Fufore, with a combined projected capacity of several megawatts and thousands of expected connections. In Kaduna State, approvals cover Trapco in Chikun and Makarfi 1 in Makarfi Local Government Area.
