A three-storey building has collapsed along Adeniji Adele Road on Lagos Island, prompting fresh concern over the spate of structural failures in the city.
At least four people were pulled from the rubble and taken to hospital following Thursday’s incident at 2/4 Asesi Lane, known locally as Sasi Palace.
Lagos State’s Information Commissioner, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the collapse via social media, adding that the cause remains unknown.

Emergency services including LASEMA, LASAMBUS, the fire and rescue service, police, and traffic authorities are at the scene, continuing rescue operations amid fears others may still be trapped.
The incident is the fourth such collapse in Lagos in as many months. Fatal building failures have recently been reported in Ikorodu, Mushin, Ojodu-Berger, and Lekki.
