The Nigeria Football Federation has named a 23-player squad for the Super Falcons’ double-header against Cameroon, with star striker Asisat Oshoala left out in a move seen as signalling a generational shift.
The squad, announced on Tuesday evening via the team’s official X handle, features a youthful core as head coach Justin Madugu intensifies preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, in Morocco.

Captains Chiamaka Nnadozie and Rasheedat Ajibade headline the roster, joined by a returning Francisca Ordega and Omorinsola Babajide, recalled on the back of strong club form.
Cordelia Odoma and Blessing Ilivieda are among domestic league standouts earning national call-ups, while Granada forward Edna Imade was a surprise omission despite scoring 16 goals in Spain this season.
Nigeria will face Cameroon on 30 May in Ikenne and 3 June in Abeokuta. The Super Falcons are drawn in Group B with Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.
