Atalanta are set to finalise the signing of Italian-born Nigerian defender Honest Ahanor from Genoa in a deal worth €20 million, including add-ons.
The 17-year-old replaces Matteo Ruggeri, who is close to joining Atlético Madrid.
Ahanor, known for his pace and aggressive defending, becomes Nigeria’s joint-most expensive teenager, matching the fee paid for George Ilenikhena’s move to AS Monaco.
