Ayra Starr has made history as the first Nigerian female artiste to cross the 1 billion-view mark on YouTube, overtaking Yemi Alade’s long-held record in the process.
The 23-year-old singer soared past Alade’s 805 million milestone, with a significant portion of her views driven by the global success of ‘Rush’—her Grammy-nominated hit—which has alone clocked over 450 million views.

With this achievement, Ayra Starr cements her position as one of Nigeria’s most-streamed musicians, joining the ranks of male heavyweights including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Ckay, all of whom have previously crossed the billion-view threshold.
