Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist Ayra Starr has spoken about her transition from music to film, following her debut in ‘Children of Blood and Bone’, an American fantasy feature based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel.
In an interview with CBS, Starr described the experience as intense and eye-opening, noting that the discipline and pace of filmmaking were far more demanding than she had expected. She said the role pushed her to become more structured and punctual, and left her with a newfound respect for professional actors.

The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, features a star-studded cast including Idris Elba, Viola Davis, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Cynthia Erivo. It is set for release by Paramount Pictures on 15 January 2027.
