Senior PDP figure Bode George has criticised the police for barricading the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, describing the action as a dangerous assault on democracy.
Armed officers on Monday sealed off Wadata Plaza, disrupting scheduled meetings of the PDP’s National Executive Committee and Board of Trustees.

George questioned the legality of the blockade, noting there was no court order to justify such action.
He warned the Federal Government against authoritarian tactics, drawing parallels with regimes in North Korea and Russia.
Despite the disruption, George said the PDP meeting would go ahead at an undisclosed location, insisting the party would not be intimidated.
