Club Brugge Eye Nigeria’s Akere in Summer Reinforcement Plans

Belgian side Club Brugge are reportedly tracking Nigerian winger Samuel Akere as part of plans to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The 21-year-old has impressed at Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv, registering seven goals and six assists this season. His performances have drawn attention from multiple European suitors.

A product of the G12 FC academy, Akere could follow in the footsteps of compatriot Raphael Onyedika, who has become a key figure in Brugge’s midfield.

With just a year remaining on his current contract, Botev Plovdiv may be willing to sell this summer.

Talks are said to be at an early stage, but Brugge are reportedly eager to conclude a deal swiftly, before competition intensifies.

The move could offer Akere a significant step up in his European career and bolster Brugge’s wide options heading into next season.
