A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the cyberstalking case against Nollywood actress Doris Ogala to October 28, 2026, after she failed to appear in court on Tuesday. The case involves a four-count charge filed by Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberty and Miracle Ministry.
Ogala’s lawyer told the court that she was receiving treatment at a Federal Medical Centre and requested an adjournment, presenting affidavits in support of the application. However, the prosecution counsel said available medical records indicated that she had already been discharged.
The prosecution also questioned her claim of ill health, noting that she recently participated in and won a political party primary after actively campaigning. He warned that a bench warrant would be requested if she fails to appear at the next hearing date.
The trial judge, Justice Akintayo Aluko, adjourned the matter to October 28, 2026, after the prosecution reluctantly agreed to the delay. The case includes allegations of cyberbullying, publication of personal materials without consent, and attempted extortion.
