Pakistan says it has killed 26 militants in a series of air strikes across the border into Afghanistan, targeting what it described as hideouts of the Pakistan Taliban, also known as the TTP. The strikes were carried out late on Tuesday along the border provinces, according to Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
The minister said four targets were destroyed, including a training centre, an ammunition cache and positions linked to militant commanders. He said the operation was based on credible intelligence and carried out in response to recent attacks in Pakistan’s northwestern region.
However, the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan said the strikes hit civilian areas in Kunar, Khost and Paktika provinces. Its spokesperson said 11 children, one woman and an elderly man were killed, while 14 others were injured, describing the attacks as a humanitarian crime.

Local residents and officials told news agencies that homes were struck in multiple districts, causing civilian casualties. The latest escalation follows weeks of relative calm along the border and renewed accusations from both sides over cross-border militant activity.
