An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has dismissed a N5 billion defamation suit filed by the Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, against Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
Justice O.T. Ademola-Salami struck out the case and awarded N500,000 in costs against Adams.

Adams had accused Igboho of secretly recording a private telephone conversation without consent, claiming it breached his constitutional right to privacy. He also argued the recording had damaged his reputation in his official capacity.
However, the Court upheld objections from Igboho’s counsel, Junaid Sanusi, who noted procedural lapses, including the failure of Adams to personally depose to the supporting affidavit.
The Court ruled the suit lacked merit and declined all reliefs sought by the claimant.
