At least 41 people have been killed and over 70 injured after an Israeli airstrike hit a popular cafe near Gaza City’s port, according to Al-Shifa Hospital.
The Al-Baqa cafe, known for its internet access and coastal setting, was frequented by students, journalists, and remote workers. Hospital officials say many of the dead are women and children.

Among the victims was journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, raising the reported toll of media workers killed in Gaza since October 2023 to 228.
The Israeli military says it was targeting Hamas militants and is reviewing the incident.
