The Federal Executive Council has approved six hundred new homes for the Armed Forces.
Housing Minister Muttaqha Rabe, speaking after Wednesday’s council meeting in Abuja, said the government will buy 600 four-bedroom duplexes at Bristow City in Life Camp, Abuja, for military personnel.
Rabe said the move is part of President Tinubu’s plan to improve welfare for servicemen. This adds to 2,056 units approved earlier. That brings the total to 2,650 homes for the military.
The government’s target is 10,000 units in five years, handled by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Rabe said some military housing estates double as barracks, since they include offices and guard rooms.
