The Federal Government has warned against indiscriminate parking of fuel tankers and other heavy-duty vehicles on newly completed roads, saying it threatens the lifespan of critical infrastructure.
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, gave the warning during an inspection of the Aleto Bridge project in Rivers State, noting that roads are not designed for prolonged static load.
He said the over N230 billion project must be protected and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ensuring continued funding after the withdrawal of support from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.
