The Federal Government says it plans to distribute five million gas cylinders nationwide by 2030, aiming to convert one million households annually to cleaner cooking energy.
Petroleum Resources (Gas) Minister, Ekperikpe Ekpo, made the announcement during the launch of the North West phase of the grassroots LPG Penetration Programme in Sokoto.

The initiative, already underway in other zones, forms part of a broader push for clean energy access.
Ekpo said the programme would cut indoor pollution, reduce deforestation, create jobs in the LPG sector, and support local manufacturing.
